Subway Art

So I went to Arizona last weekend and picked up my son from his dad's house. While I was there my mom and I got into a craft project. A friend of her's had given her the idea. She took some of her favorite art works and turned them into word art. This is how my mom's turned out:

I really liked how it turned out! I am not big on classic art, so this was really difficult for me. My mom gave me the idea to go to the scrapbook store and just do the colors in my living room. We went to the Scrapbook Barn in Gilbert, and the ladies were very rude and unhelpful, so I decided I did not want to buy from them. In the end my mom came up with the idea to use subway art. I spent the next hour or so creating my own subway art.

I took that page and made my letters.

It was really simple. You just have to buy the flat letters at your local craft store. Print out the art work you want, making it fit the entire 8.5 by 11 page. Trace the letters on the page, then cut them out. Next you cover the letters with double sided sticky tape and place your cut outs on top! I had a lot of fun making mine!

Your Personal Message - Eric Handler

To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, that is genius. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

What is burning deep inside of you? If you could spread your personal message RIGHT NOW to 1 million people, what would you say?
(Author: Eric Handler)
You can find the prompt post HERE

A message I would like to share with a million people is don't stress out over the small things. Is yelling at a random person during the day worth it to you? When you boil over and let lose did that really make you feel better? Its time people learned to let things go, because today might be your last day to make an impact.

#Truth30 Five Years

Five Years by Corbett Barr

There will be an agreement in whatever variety of actions, so they be each honest and natural in their hour. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
What would you say to the person you were five years ago? What will you say to the person you’ll be in five years?
(Author: Corbett Barr)

I would tell the person I was five years ago to relax. Life happens and it better to just live it than to stress out over it. And Mom knows what she talking about, try listening instead of blowing her off.

I would tell the person that I will be in five years to make sure I remember myself. I don't want to forget to make time for myself.

#Trust30 Prompt

Liz Danzico – Today

Your genuine action will explain itself, and will explain your other genuine actions. Your conformity explains nothing. The force of character is cumulative. – Ralph Waldo Emerson, Self-Reliance
If ‘the voyage of the best ship is a zigzag line of a hundred tracks,’ then it is more genuine to be present today than to recount yesterdays. How would you describe today using only one sentence? Tell today’s sentence to one other person. Repeat each day.
(Author: Liz Danzico)

Today was an extremely productive day; I feel accomplished!

Dare to be bold by Matt Cheuvront

Our arts, our occupations, our marriages, our religion, we have not chosen, but society has chosen for us. We are parlour soldiers. We shun the rugged battle of fate, where strength is born. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Next to Resistance, rational thought is the artist or entrepreneurs worst enemy. Bad things happen when we employ rational thought, because rational thought comes from the ego. Instead, we want to work from the Self, that is, from instinct and intuition, from the unconscious.

A child has no trouble believing the unbelievable, nor does the genius or the madman. Its only you and I, with our big brains and our tiny hearts, who doubt and overthink and hesitate.” - Steven Pressfield, Do the Work

The idea of “being realistic” holds all of us back. From starting a business or quitting a job to dating someone who may not be our type or moving to a new place – getting “real” often means putting your dreams on hold.

Today, let’s take a step away from rational thought and dare to be bold. What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to accomplish but have been afraid to pursue? Write it down. Also write down the obstacles in your way of reaching your goal. Finally, write down a tangible plan to overcome each obstacle.
The only thing left is to, you know, actually go make it happen. What are you waiting for?
(Author: Matt Cheuvront)

I want to be a successful pink Cadillac Mary Kay Consultant.

My Obstacles:
I don't have a car.
I moved to a new area, and do not have customers.
I do not have the marketing supplies with my new information.
I am out of the MK loop.
I am afraid to start over and fail.

My Plan:
I will just have to work my schedule around when I can use Zach's car, until I have my own Mary Kay car. My plan for gaining new customers in the new area has been to leave my business card any where and every where. Also I have been asking the new friends I am making if they would consider having a MK party. I have been watching the prices on marketing tools, and plan to buy some business cards on Friday. Vistaprint is giving 500 business cards for ten dollars! I need to call around and find where the Mary Kay group here in my town meets up for weekly meetings. I know just getting back into a group would help motivate me, and help me with my confidence. The support system that comes with Mary Kay is so amazing I want those connections!

Trying!

I am trying to keep this going! Life just keeps getting in the way ;)

"Your genuine action will explain itself, and will explain your other genuine actions. Your conformity explains nothing. The force of character is cumulative. – Ralph Waldo Emerson, Self-Reliance

Today's Sentence:

Today was a pounding, persistent headache, that did not ruin the experience.

Come Alive by Jonathan Mead

Life wastes itself while we are preparing to live. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

"

If you had one week left to live, would you still be doing what you’re doing now? In what areas of your life are you preparing to live? Take them off your To Do list and add them to a To Stop list. Resolve to only do what makes you come alive.

Bonus: How can your goals improve the present and not keep you in a perpetual “always something better” spiral?

(Author: Jonathan Mead)"

If I had one week left, this is not how I would be living. I would be enjoying myself. I would be dancing, whenever I felt like. I would be with my family, my son would be with me I would only do things that I wanted to and not worry about the pressures from others. In theory it would be wonderful to do only what makes me come alive. If I could dance and teach people to dance for the rest of my life I would. but to actually live off of that is almost impossible any more. I do however like design and arts, I hope to go into this field and do something I enjoy while also making enough to support my family. I do hope to one day coach or work with under privileged kids in dance. Until then I think I just need to make more time to move the furniture aside and boogie in the living room! :)
